Joachim Zais Joachim Zais was born in 1951. He studied architecture at the Technical University in Brunswick, where he graduated in 1982. From 1983-1989, he worked under Meinhard von Gerkan at the Technical University in Brunswick and then as an architect at the Brunswick office of gmp, which he ran from 1989-2000. From 1993-2005 he was a partner in the gmp office. Since 2005, Joachim Zais has had his own architectural practice.

Hakki Akyol Akyol Kamps Architekten Hakki Akyol was born in 1958. He studied architecture at the Technical University in Brunswick, graduating in 1985. From 1986-1991, he was research assistant under Volkwin Marg at the RWTH in Aachen. From 1992–2000 he worked for gmp in Hamburg before becoming a founding partner of Akyol Kamps Architekten in Hamburg in 2000. In the same year, he was appointed lecturer at the University of Lüneburg. Since 2002, Hakki Akyol has been a visiting professor at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule, Kiel.

Michael Biwer kramer biwer mau a r c h i t e k t e n Michael Biwer was born in 1966. He studied architecture at the Technical Universities in Munich and Brunswick, graduating at the latter in 1996. From 1996-2001, he worked for gmp in Hamburg before becoming founding partner of the firm of kramer biwer mau architekten in 2001. In 2005, he was a founding partner of the “hamburg architects” group of architects.

Johann von Mansberg v.Mansberg, Wiskott und Partner Johann von Mansberg was born in 1965. He studied architecture at the Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETH) and the Technical University of Brunswick, where he graduated in 1995. From 1995–1998 he worked for gmp in Hamburg. Since 1998, he has been a partner in the Lüneburg firm v.Mansberg, Wiskott und Partner, becoming the founding partner of the Hamburg office in 2002. From 2003 to 2005, he was chairman of the competition committee of the Hamburg Chamber of Architects. In 2005, he was a founding partner of the “hamburg architects” group of architects.

Philipp Kamps Akyol Kamps Architekten Philipp Kamps was born in 1966. In 1989, he completed his training as a certified bricklayer. Thereafter he studied architecture at the Technical University of Brunswick, where he graduated in 1995. From 1995–2000 he worked for gmp in Hamburg before founding the firm of Akyol Kamps Architekten with Hakki Akyol in 2000. Since 2002, he has been on the teaching staff at the Fachhochschule Buxtehude.
